FIELD: electronics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computed tomography (CT), in particular, to correction of images formed using CT. Method includes steps of receiving a slice image and multiple images of CT-projections. Segmentation is performed in cross-section of area of artifact. Segmented area of artifact is used to identify in each of multiple images of CT-projections a footprint corresponding to area of artifact. Method includes matching, in each of multiple images of CT-projections of identified footprint in image of CT-projection, with a corresponding footprint in image of CT-projection. Corresponding footprint is position of an element when obtaining said image of CT-projection. Based on a user request, a new slice image is formed by reconstructing, based on a plurality of corresponding footprints, a new slice image, while compensating for movement of element when obtaining images of CT-projections. Previous steps are repeated for newly reconstructed slice image with compensated movement instead of previous slice image. Interpolation is performed for each of multiple images of CT-projections and corresponding footprint in corresponding image of CT-projection is used as limit for interpolation, to obtain multiple interpolated images of CT-projections. Multiple interpolated images of CT-projections are used for image reconstruction of corrected version of slice image.
EFFECT: deriving a corrected version of a slice image.
