FIELD: electrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to current contact jaw of electrolyzer for aluminium production and method of its production. Current contact jaw contains aluminium rod and steel cross bar, connected by bimetallic connector, made by explosion welding, in the same time in the bimetallic adapter, having a flat interface section steel-aluminium, is made a conical-cylindrical hole in the central region, in which there is a steel rivet for enhancing metal compounds. Conical part [3] is located in the aluminium part of the adapter and by height coincides with its thickness, cylindrical - in steel, and by height coincides with its thickness, maximum diameter of the conical part of the rivet exceeds the diameter of its cylindrical part at 40-60 %. In method of making adapter includes step-by-step cladding steel with aluminium prior to connection of aluminium rod and steel cross bar and execution on the side of the steel part in the centre of the cylindrical hole at depth, equal to its thickness, and in the aluminium part axially is made taper hole, in the obtained conical-cylindrical hole placed steel rivet, aligned with it in shape and size, pressed and fixed at the end face of the cylindrical part.
EFFECT: provides a simplified design of steel-aluminium adapter and manufacture of current contact jaw with simultaneous increasing of its reliability, service life and reduction of power losses.
