FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a ligand of 2-hydroxyphthalocyanine of formula I, involving mixed cyclisation of unsubstituted phthalonitrile with 4-(o-hydroxymethylbenzyloxy) phthalonitrile in presence of lithium methylate and magnesium acetate while boiling for 3–5 hours in isoamyl alcohol, followed by separating insoluble symmetric product – magnesium-phthalocyanine by simple filtering, separation of mixture of soluble products of low-isometric structure by gel penetration chromatography, hydrolysis and demetallisation of separated magnesium 2-(o-hydroxymethylbenzyloxy) phthalocyanine with concentrated sulphuric acid or chloric acid in acetonitrile solution.
EFFECT: technical result is production with high output of compound of formula I.
