FIELD: wood-working industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to round timber storage and recording in storage piles on timber warehouses and timber terminals of timber industry. Method is based on determination of round timber storage piles multiple-row storage piles volume using laser electronic tacheometers for measurement of heights, length and width of storage pile. Method involves obtaining of storage pile undersurface (so called raceway) geodesic coordinates (XH,YH, ZH) and its logs upper row marks (XB, YB, ZB) through discrete distances of 1–3 m, with subsequent storage pile height calculation in survey points. Storage pile height calculation in survey points is determined by difference of geodesic coordinates "ZB–ZH". To calculate timber volume average storage pile height is determined as arithmetic average. Determination of X, Y and Z coordinates, as well as plotting surfaces and interconnected lines by storage pile center, including storage pile upper marks projecting on its substrate, in order to determine storage pile height in every i-th point, is carried out using special software.
EFFECT: provision of all species round timber multiple-row storage piles valid volume with acceptable accuracy of up to 5 %.
