SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of monitoring timber movement. Technical result is achieved by installation of radio-frequency tags with unique identification code with additional information on each prepared round timber, reading unique identification codes and their comparison with codes already available in database, wherein additional information contains coordinates of device which performs operations obtained using the global positioning system GLONASS, and when reading identification code of tag information on distance between reader and read tag is recieved.

EFFECT: providing automatic monitoring of round timber movement and controlling legality of round timber harvesting in the supply chain.
