FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method involves rotation of drum around axis, as well as support shaft rotation around axis close to drum to form a gap between them. Drum comprises fluid nozzle and pressing element, wherein pressing element has outer surface. Support shaft comprises flexible outer peripheral surface. First and second workpieces are moved in processing direction onto drum. Fluid nozzle moves radially outwards, and heated fluid jet is directed to workpieces. Fluid nozzle is pulled radially inside, and pressing element moves radially outwards. Workpieces move through the gap and compressed between pressing element and support shaft so, that pressing element deforms support shaft flexible outer peripheral surface.
EFFECT: disclosed are devices and methods for connection of workpieces by thermal compression.
