SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compounds of formula (I) and formula (II), where R1 and R2, independently from each other, are selected from aliphatic hydrocarbons, containing from 1 carbon atom to 30 carbon atoms, provided that at least one of R1 and R2 is selected from aliphatic hydrocarbons containing at least 8 carbon atoms, and A is a halogen as a hydrophobicity-providing agent, such as adhesive for making paper.
