FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described are methods of producing lactams from oximes by a Beckmann rearrangement using a silicoaluminophosphate catalyst. Method of performing a Beckmann rearrangement in a liquid phase at temperature lower than 250 °C involves reaction of oxime in presence of a catalyst to produce a lactam, said catalyst comprising a silicon-containing aluminophosphate with IZA framework code FAU. Method for gas phase Beckmann rearrangement involves reaction of oxime in presence of a catalyst which contains silicon-containing aluminophosphate with IZA framework code FAU and a SAPO-37 type catalyst, obtained from gel, characterised by ratio of silicon to phosphorus from 0.22:1 to 0.63:1. Catalyst for Beckmann rearrangement includes silicon-containing aluminophosphate with IZA framework code FAU and multiple separate Bronsted acid centres located inside frame, wherein acid centres contain silicon, isomorphically replacing phosphorus in frame; wherein catalyst is a SAPO-37 type catalyst, obtained from gel, characterised by ratio of silicon to phosphorus from 0.22:1 to 0.63:1. High degree of conversion of oxime and high selectivity to desired lactam is obtained using disclosed methods, including a high degree of conversion and selectivity to ε-caprolactam, obtained from cyclohexanone oxime, and high degree of conversion and selectivity to ω-laurolactam obtained from cyclododecanone oxime.
EFFECT: said catalysts can be used in gas-phase or liquid-phase reactions with conversion of oximes into lactams.
