COPOLYMERS COMPRISING ESTER GROUPS AND USE THEREOF IN LUBRICANTS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC C08F220/10 C10M145/14 C08F2/38

Abstract RU 2610089 C9

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to copolymers with ester groups, containing at least one non-polar segment P and at least one polar segment D, obtained by polymerisation under action of nitroxides containing a phosphorus atom. Described is a copolymer containing ester groups, with at least one non-polar segment P and at least one polar segment D, wherein polar segment D comprises at least eight repeating units and wherein mass fraction of dispersing repeating units in polar segment D is at least 30 % in terms of weight of polar segment D, characterised by that, copolymer containing ester groups, is obtained via polymerisation under action of nitroxides, wherein transferable nitroxyl radical compound used during polymerisation under action of nitroxides contains a phosphorus atom, wherein copolymer contains repeating units, which are derivatives of styrene monomers, and repeating units which are derivatives of methacrylate, wherein non-polar segment P is obtained by polymerising monomer composition containing: a) from 0 to 40 wt%, in terms of weight of monomer composition for producing non-polar segments, one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (I): where R denotes hydrogen or methyl, R1 denotes a straight or branched alkyl residue with 1–6 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 independently denote hydrogen or a group of formula -COOR', where R' denotes hydrogen or alkyl group with 1–6 carbon atoms, b) from 5 to 100 wt%, in terms of weight of monomer composition for producing non-polar segments, one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (II): where R denotes hydrogen or methyl, R4 denotes a straight or branched alkyl residue with 7–15 carbon atoms, R5 and R6 independently denote hydrogen or a group of formula –COOR", where R" denotes hydrogen or alkyl group with 7–15 carbon atoms, c) from 0 to 80 wt%, in terms of weight of monomer composition for producing non-polar segments, one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (III): where R denotes hydrogen or methyl, R7 denotes a straight or branched alkyl residue with 16–30 carbon atoms, R8 and R9 independently denote hydrogen or a group of formula –COOR''', where R''' denotes hydrogen or alkyl group with 16–30 carbon atoms, d) from 0 to 50 wt%, in terms of weight of monomer composition for producing hydrophobic segments, comonomer, and wherein dispersing repeating units in polar segment D represents an ethylenically unsaturated polar ester compound of formula (IV): where R denotes hydrogen or methyl; X denotes oxygen; R10 denotes a residue containing 2-1000 carbon atoms and at least one group of formula -CO-; R11 and R12 denote hydrogen, or represent heterocyclic vinyl compound. Also described is a lubricating agent containing said copolymer. Described is use of said copolymer to improve friction coefficient and reduce wear.

EFFECT: obtaining a copolymer with improved lubricating properties.
