FIELD: petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of using polymers with ester groups in fuel compositions containing raw material of plant origin. The fuel composition shall contain at least 20 % w/w of diesel oil of mineral origin, not less than 2.0 % w/w of diesel biofuel and 0.05 to 5 % w/w of at least one polymer with ester groups. The polymer was selected from the group containing polyalkyl (meth)acrylates, polyalkyl fumarates and/or polyalkyl maleates. The polymer comprises the following three components: from 0.1 to 80 % w/w of the repeated structural units, derivatives of ester monomers with 16-40 carbons as alcohol residue; from 0.1 to 30 % w/w of structural units with 1-6 carbons as alcohol residue and from 10.0 to 98 % w/w of structural units with 7-15 carbons as alcohol residue. The use of polymers with ester groups for enhancing viscosity and the method for using diesel engine are also disclosed.
EFFECT: mixtures containing certain polymers with ester groups are characterized by lower pour point as compared with pure mineral diesel fuel with no additives, the lower freezing temperature being conserved if diesel biofuel is added to mineral fuel.
