SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of modifying text presentation in a document. Method comprises obtaining a Document Object Model (DOM) tree associated with document markup. Searching in a plurality of nodes of DOM tree a target text line, wherein search in child node is carried out after search in corresponding parent node. Determining target text node of DOM tree, containing target text line wholly and not containing child node, containing target text line wholly. Modifying when determining target text markup node at least in one of: target text node; and child node of target text node containing a part of target text line, wherein markup is modified for modified presentation of target text line in document.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of efficiency of modifications of parts of text in an electronic document.
