FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: method for providing rollback of a fire unit of gun-carriage weapons in parallel to the barrel axis, which includes a fire unit and a gun-carriage. The fire unit consists of a barrel, a bolt, a bolt carrier and a trigger and striking mechanism. When the operator presses on the arresting trigger mechanism of the gun-carriage the stopper disengages with the fire unit and sets off the trigger and striking mechanism. Under the pressure of powder gases the bullet moves in the barrel, and as a result of the recoil of the fire unit, balanced so that at the moment the bullet leaves the barrel the fire unit centre of mass rolls back in parallel to the barrel axis, the fire unit rolls back together with the gun carriage.

EFFECT: preservation of fire accuracy and precision under various operating conditions and increased performance.
