FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft machine building and can be used in designing, production and operation of jet-turbine aircraft engine. Aircraft engine fan housing comprises metal shell of revolution, consisting of inlet, central and outlet parts, fasteners with coupled assemblies and units. Shell central part inner surface is equidistant to fan blade end surface, shell central part is made of plastic metal with ultimate elongation of not less than εv=0.06 (6 %) with thickness determined by ratio where k=0.15…0.20 is empirical coefficient; m is free blade weight, kg; v is broken blade center of mass linear speed, m/s; R is shell central part average radius, m; L is perimeter of broken blade peripheral surface in contact with shell central part, m; εv is limit of shell central part material elongation in tension; σv is tensile strength of said shell central part in tension, MPa and its length should be, at least, A=B+2⋅C, where B is length of blade peripheral part projection on plane passing through shell axis of rotation; is distance from blade peripheral part angular points along shell axis of rotation; n=2…3 is empirical coefficient.

EFFECT: proposed fan housing design has minimum allowable weight and provides broken fan blades keeping within jet turbine engine.
