SUBSTANCE: method of controlling the operation of the turnstile for the controlled passage of people, contains orbiting rigidly fixed to the turnstile axis swivel head with radiating from its axis barring authorities, which in normal operation of the turnstile by the rotation of the rotary unit around its axis is transferred sequentially from one, the barrier passage position another rotary position, liberating pass, and in the case of interfering normal operation events such as power failure, occlusive body, standing in the barrier position can be moved from obstructing position "closed passage" to the off position "open passage". After eliminating the causes of the obstructing body movement, standing in the blocking position, "the passage is closed" to the off position "passage is open", this body is set back to its working position by the action of the return effort with respect to obstructing body axis and releasably fixed in that position. The drive connection of each occlusive body with electrically configured to disengage in the event of disturbing the normal operation of the event barring body, standing in the barrier position, is automatically transferred from obstructing pass people of the state, "the passage is closed" to the off position "passage is open", regardless of the occurrence of such events, and after the removal of the cause of the malfunction of the turnstile, return force causing the return is in the idle position, obstructing the body in its operating blocking position "passage is closed", carried out by rotating the body about its axis swivel head with a fixed swivel and direct for influencing the occlusive body, which is in the rest position, from the electric drive through the mechanical gear, engageable after solving it's task. EFFECT: reducing energy consumption and increasing the reliability of the turnstile.
