FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of separating methanol-aldehyde ether fraction of hydrogenation product from production of butyl alcohols by oxo synthesis, containing, in addition to butyl alcohols, methanol, water, oil aldehydes, butyl ethers and esters, hydrocarbons, aldehydes and alcohols C8, acetals C12 and other high-boiling by-products by distillation. Separation of target methanol-aldehyde ether fraction from hydrogenation product is carried out in mass-exchange apparatus: in a rectification column with bubbling plates at top, a fraction is extracted, containing methanol, oil aldehydes, water, butyl alcohols, esters, hydrocarbons and other impurities with flow rate, where content of isobutyl alcohol therein is 3–15 wt% of potential content thereof in hydrogenation product, at bottom is separated a mixture of butyl alcohols, esters, water, high-boiling by-products with flow rate, where water concentration in still product is equal to 4.98–8.23 wt%, temperature difference between bottom of column and 38-th plate from below is maintained within range of 10–40 °C, to extract at top of apparatus water, recycled to supply column and feeding steam into zone of 10-th plate with rate 0.1–1.2 t/h.

EFFECT: proposed method allows to produce butanol with quality corresponding to GOST.
