FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical processing device (1) unused optical radiation energy recovery method, containing, at least, one light source, in particular, laser radiation source (2) or light source with plurality of light-emitting diodes, optical processing unit (1) for workpiece processing (5) (versions) and recovery device. Method includes stages of: light source actuation, exposure of, at least, one workpiece (5) to electromagnetic radiation (4) for its processing, trapping by recovery device (6, 6a, 6b) radiation trap (7) of, at least, part of electromagnetic radiation (4') not used in workpiece (5) processing, conversion of, at least, part of electromagnetic radiation (4') energy, captured by trap (7), into electric energy (14). Recovery device (6, 6a, 6b) contains radiation trap (7) with cavity (70) and, at least, with one light input opening (71) for electromagnetic radiation (4') input into cavity (70). Recovery device (6, 6a, 6b) absorbents (9) are located inside radiation trap (7) cavity (70) and made with possibility to absorb, at least, part of electromagnetic radiation (4') entering into cavity (70), convert it into thermal energy and heat fluid coolant (12). Thermal engine (10), in particular, steam turbine or Stirling engine, in to which fluid coolant (12) is supplied, is made with possibility of conversion of, at least, part of fluid heat carrier (12) heat energy into mechanical energy (13). Generator (11) is connected with heat engine (10) and made with possibility of conversion of, at least, part of mechanical energy (13) into electric energy (14).
