FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: deformable waveguide comprises a flexible waveguide substrate and a polymerisable part, wherein the polymerisable part is integrated into the flexible waveguide substrate and the polymerisable part contains a monomer, which enables the polymerisable part to form a stiff rib through the deformable waveguide after polymerisation, wherein the stiff rib is intended to support the other part of the deformable waveguide. Light sources, such as LEDs and/or photovoltaic cells, can be integrated into the waveguide substrate so that the waveguide is a lighting device or a solar energy concentrator, respectively.

EFFECT: creating a waveguide which can be easily given the required shape.
