SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and specifically to a method of producing N1,N3-bis (5-amino-3-alkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-ylidene) -2H-isoindole-1,3-diamines, where the pentyl, decile and dodecyl radicals are used as alkyl substituents. The compounds can be used as oil-soluble dyes for dyeing wax, synthetic fiber, polymers, hydrocarbons, fats, alcohols, plastic, rubber. Method of producingN1,N3-bis(5-amino-3-alkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-ylidene) -2H-isoindole-1,3-diamine is performed by reaction of the corresponding 5-amino-2-imino-3-pentyl-1 3,4-thiadiazolyl, 5-amino-3-decyl-2-imino-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl, 5-amino-3-dodecyl-2-imino-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl, phthalonitrile and chloride in a high-boiling alcohol medium while heating and stirring of the reaction mixture, purification of the end product. The mixing is carried out in a butanol medium, calcium chloride is used as a chloride. The stirring is carried out for 47-48 hours at the boiling point of a high-boiling alcohol, the purification is carried out by recrystallization from pyridine.
