SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to oil and gas equipment. Release device for disconnection comprises a base element extending in a longitudinal direction and a connecting element arranged in continuation of base element. Connecting element constitutes distal end of release device and is adapted to be coupled to a downhole object. Connecting element is releasably coupled to base element by an activatable release mechanism, comprising an activatable sleeve slidable in longitudinal direction and a key element having a plurality of key fingers, flexible in an inwards radial direction and adapted to latch onto connecting element. Inwards flexibility of key fingers is controlled by position of locking sleeve. Release mechanism further comprises a release spring forcing locking sleeve and key element in mutually opposite directions. Activatable locking sleeve is hydraulically activated by injection of a hydraulic fluid into an expandable space, defined, at least partly, by a piston face of locking sleeve. Invention also relates to downhole setting tool for setting an object in a well shaft and to a method of disconnection of downhole object.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of setting tool configured for disconnection from downhole object to prevent sticking of tool in well.
