FIELD: manufacture of rolled products. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has piston surrounded with cylinder. Piston is positioned for disconnection from roll neck and is configured so as to divide cylinder interior into first and second chambers. Pipes for liquid are mounted for alternative supplying of pressure to first and second chambers to provide for alternative shifting of cylinder with respect to fixed piston in opposed first and second directions. Displacement of cylinder in first direction facilitates advancement of assembled bearing to mounting position and displacement of cylinder in opposed second direction facilitates removal of bearing from mounting position. Apparatus is used as transfer device with hydraulic drive, which may be mounted or dismantled. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 9 cl, 24 dwg
