FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metal treatment by pressing and can be used for manufacturing of wheels for vehicles. To manufacture the component of the rim base of the composite wheel, tubular workpiece is used, which is subjected to hot forming by depositing in the press mould. However, the desired shape is formed in the part of the workpiece. Part of the workpiece to be deposited is heated to the forming temperature at the treatment site in the press mould. Preferably, induction heating is used. During manufacturing of the rim base, the component, produced by the above method, is welded to at least one further component. The used press mould comprises two parts which are movable relative to each other and a heating element.
EFFECT: invention provides for increase in durability and reliability of the rim base of the composite wheel.
