FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manufacturing of rims and rim parts for wheels of trucks. Local heating of a welded shell obtained from a sheet of structural carbon steel is carried out from the side of the butt to a depth equal to 7-15 sheet thicknesses. The part profile is formed by hot stamping of the shell in a die using a press. In the process of hot stamping, the heated part of the shell wall is upset, gaining metal thickness to form a shoulder under the key ring and in the area of the key ring installation. The final profile of the part is obtained by cold metal forming operations, which use stamping and rotational profiling.
EFFECT: ensuring the required shape of the parts, their thickness, a significant reduction in runout values, which increases the reliability of fastening the rim parts, improves the safety of using wheels.
