FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to the control method for the pump unit (10, 12) in a pneumatic or hydraulic system and to the pump unit. The speed of the pump unit (10, 12) in the control method can be adjusted depending on a few variables which are registered in the system by suitable sensors or actuating elements given directly as a parameter typical of their functional state. Error signals are generated from the registered variables each time on the basis of the piecewise monotonic function. At least several error signals are summed and the speed of the pump unit (10, 12) is controlled on the basis of the summed error signals so that the total error signal approaches the value equal to zero.
EFFECT: system is supplied with pressure so that the valve elements of the system work in the optimum control range at minimum power consumption of the pump unit.
