FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive tire. Tread comprises blocks (3) in the central part and the boundary edges (2, 4). Every boundary edge (2, 4) has numerous deepenings (21, 41) forming saddles. Each saddle is limited by the walls oriented in the transverse direction over its entire height, and the wall, oriented in the circumferential direction. Each saddle (21, 41) has a geometry suitable for receiving at least the end part of the central zone with the backlash Ac (measured in the circumferential direction) and the transverse gap AT (as measured in the transverse or axial direction). These Ac and AT gaps are determined so as to ensure that under normal operating conditions of the tire provided with the noted tread, the end part (302, 304) of the block central zone will be at least partially in contact with at least one of the walls of each saddle (21, 41) oriented in the transverse direction, thereby preventing the contact of each of the blocks (3), the ends of which are locked in these recesses, with the adjacent blocks of the central row.
EFFECT: invention provides an improved tire traction characteristics with the ground, as well as increase strength and the tire tread durability.
