SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a torrefication method of dried and heated biomass, comprising the step of cooling of the said biomass during the torrefication reaction in the torrefication area of the torrefication unit so that at least partially neutralize the increase of temperature in the torrefication area arising from the exothermic torrefication reactions in the torrefication area , where the said biomass is wood biomass from fir tree or eucalyptus. Also the torrefication unit is disclosed.
EFFECT: invention provides precise control of the torrefication temperature, which is critical for thorough control of quality and properties of burnt material.
