FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology of biomass torrefaction. A method for torrefaction of biomass of wood origin is proposed, implemented at a temperature interval corresponding to an endothermal period of wood thermal decomposition by convective heat transfer in a mode of circulation of a gaseous heat flow. The method differs in that molded biomass is directed to torrefaction in batches, wherein heating of the circulating gaseous heat flow is carried out with heat of a gas-permeable recuperative heat exchanger, heating of which is carried out with hot gases, which are mostly a product of combustion of volatile organic compounds distilled from biomass during torrefaction. In this case, a temperature of the circulating gaseous heat flow is maintained in the range of 200°C÷270°C, and a temperature of gaseous products of combustion of volatile organic compounds at an input to the recuperator is maintained in the range of 400°C÷700°C. An installation for torrefaction of biomass is also proposed.
EFFECT: implementation of a technology of biomass torrefaction with the maximum use of energy of torrefaction gases.
