FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: finger movement towards the control slot switches the downhole device from an opertaive condition into inoperative and vice versa. The slot has at least one circuit and at least one longitudinal track on the housing, respectively relating to at least one such circuit. The finger is movable within at least one longitudinal track between various finger and slot configurations corresponding to operative and inoperative conditions of the downhole device. Each of these elongated axial tracks (at least one) is connected respectively to each circuit (at least one) by a deflecting side track, and the control slot has no separate special reverse tracks to return the finger from the deflecting side track to the elongate axial track. The downhole device control method provides for an appararus consisting of a housing having a control slot and a finger on separate components that move relative to each other.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the downhole device control apparatus.
