FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves screening for ferritin in venous blood by its magnitude below 35 ng/ml prescribed oral iron supplements in conventional prophylactic doses for a period of 3 months, and if three months ferritin content in the venous blood again below 35 ng/ml receive iron-containing preparations continued for a further 3 months.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows to reduce the frequency and severity of iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women, minors, prevent degenerative processes in the placenta, placental insufficiency and fetal growth retardation.
