METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF THE RISK OF DEVELOPING IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA IN PREGNANT WOMEN OF DIFFERENT SOMATOTYPES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/107 G01N33/49

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to obstetrics and gynecology, and can be used to predict the risk of developing iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women of different somatotypes. In the examined woman in gestation to 9–10 weeks, anthropometric values are measured: body weight and length, thickness of skin-fat folds on the shoulder in front, on the shoulder from behind, on the forearm, on the back, on the abdomen, on the thigh, on the shin, arm circumference, forearm circumference, thigh and shin. Body fat and muscle mass are calculated by formula J. Mateigka. Determining the somatotype by the method of R. N. Dorokhov. Serum iron, serum hepcidin and hematocrit level are determined. Probability of developing iron-deficiency anemia in a specific patient is calculated by original calculation formula. Result is 60 % to 100 % predicting a high risk of developing iron deficiency anemia.

EFFECT: method enables predicting a risk of developing iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women of different somatotypes by performing rapid diagnosis of somatotypes of women with body weight index assessment.
