SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to clinical laboratory diagnostics in obstetrics. Essence of the invention is that with the help of traditional markers (hemoglobin, red blood cell count, hematocrit) the presence of anemia is established. Patients with anemia are tested for IL-6 levels, with an IL-6 value of 1.75 pg/ml and above, the patient is at a high risk of chronic disease anemia and a study of the level of hepcidin is being conducted. With a hepcidin value of 10.45 ng/ml and more, anemia of chronic diseases is diagnosed, and with a decrease in its value below 7.0 ng/ml, iron deficiency anemia is diagnosed.

EFFECT: invention can be used for the differential diagnosis of anemia of chronic diseases and iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women with impaired carbohydrate metabolism in order to select the optimal tactics for the treatment of anemia.
