SUBSTANCE: to predict ARI complications for children, local non-specific secretory immunoglobulin A is determined in naso-oropharynx mucosa brush-biopsy, together with colonization activity of infection index, adhesion index, epithelial cells destruction degree and extracellular phosphatidylcholine level. Based on the reduced local nonspecific immunoglobulin A within 4-16 lg, infection index of 50-100%, epithelial cells adhesion index of 100-500 microbial cells, epithelial cells destruction of 20-50%, extracellular phosphatidylcholine level of 0.001-0.01 mg/ml complicated acute respiratory infections are predicted for children.

EFFECT: application of this method makes it possible to predict the complicated course of ARI in children at the early stages by the simultaneous detection of multiple indices, characterising the integral anti-infective resistance of naso-oropharynx mucosa.
