SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pyrolysis unit and a method for carbon fibers extraction (recycling) from carbon fiber containing plastics, especially from carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFP or CFP-materials), preferably from carbon fiber containing composites (composite materials) and/or carbon fiber reinforced composites (composite materials), carbon fibers, material selected from the group consisting of polymeric, construction materials or cement-containing systems, moulded body. The pyrolysis unit includes a pyrolysis oven, a loading and unloading station, a vent unit, a control device, a body. The pyrolysis oven includes a rotating pipe, the wall of whichhas openings for pyrolysis gas discharge. The housing is isolated from the external environment and has multiple sections with different temperatures and comprises openings for the inloading station. The pyrolysis unit further comprises means for shredding of the material to be processed, located before the loading station or upstream of the loading station.

EFFECT: uniform heating of material during decomposition of the polymer matrix.
