FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: erecting the combined retaining wall from the cylinders is carried out gradually; for this purpose, at first a combined flexible apron is laid in the base. On the combined flexible apron formed in this way, moulds are installed, which have the form of hollow cylinders. From the top, stone is filled into the filling opening of the mould, after which the mould is gradually removed as it is filled. The diameter of cylindrical gabions is 0.5÷1.0 m. One side of the retaining wall, which works by compression, is concreted. The thickness of the protective concrete coating is 0.1÷0.3 m. Vertical expansion joints are arranged in the protective cladding of the mesh frame. The space between the cylinders in the docking areas is filled with concrete, which provides the increased strength of adhesion of cylindrical gabions together. The other side of the combined retaining wall, which works by stretching, is reinforced with a woven or other mesh. Inside the cylindrical gabions there are mesh bridges vertically oriented along the action direction of the bending moments.

EFFECT: increasing the carrying capacity during the operation by bending and shear and protecting the retaining wall against abrasion by deposits; the proposed combined retaining wall is cheaper and more reliable in the operation than the known analogous technical solutions; the efficiency of these structures is 1,5-2 times higher, since the structure is capable of operating by bending loads.
