SUBSTANCE: device for detecting three-dimensional objects is proposed, which is mounted on a vehicle comprising an image capture device 10 comprising a lens for forming the image of the rear vehicle part; a three-dimensional object detecting module 33 for detecting a three-dimensional object, that is present in the detection area based on the captured image; a nightfall estimating module 34 for estimating whether night has come or not; a brightness detecting module 35 for detecting brightness of the image area plurality based on the captured image; a brightness peak detecting module 36 for detecting the brightness peak from the number of peaks in brightness, having the brightness gradient constituting the predetermined value or more, as a target peak brightness; and a controller 37 for suppressing the three-dimensional object detection by means of the three-dimensional object detecting module 33, when the estimation is made of the fact, that the night has come, based on the detection result of the detected target peak brightness.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of the three-dimensional object detection.
