FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: chain tensioning device includes at least one main chain tensioning sprocket (18), to which the chain (2) is coupled, a main spring (19) acting on the shaft of the main sprocket (18) in the chain tension direction (X) and the auxiliary cam element (25) cooperating with the cam-actuated element operatively connected to the shaft of the main chain tensioning sprocket (18) so that it tends to push the shaft in the tension direction (X) under the action of the auxiliary resilient means (28). The auxiliary cam element (25) automatically eliminates any free wheeling, arising from chain wear, and prevents movement of the chain tensioning sprocket in the direction opposite the direction of tension. In an embodiment of the invention provides two main sprocket (18A, 18B) chain tension, each having a respective auxiliary cam element (25A, 25B). Two auxiliary cam element may form part of one arm (25) carried rotatably.
EFFECT: efficiency chain tensioning device.
