SUBSTANCE: invention relates mainly to upper luggage storage bin, and more specifically to an upper luggage storage bin, which includes a pivoting bin having a flap that rotates outward. Aircraft storage bin includes an upper housing and a flap, pivotally connected to the upper housing, which interacts with the upper housing, forming the inner space of the bin. Flap comprises a bottom, a leading edge and opposite side walls, extending upwards from the bottom, and configured to rotate about the pivot axis relative to the upper housing between open and closed positions. Rear portion of the flap comprises a convex portion that has an upper trailing edge and a curved outer surface. Upper housing includes a concave portion adjacent to the convex portion. When the flap is rotated from the open position to the closed position, the clearance between the upper trailing edge of the convex portion and the curved inner surface of the concave portion remains substantially the same.
