SUBSTANCE: main working element of fish protection device is represented by the water-permeable screen consisting of cassettes made of elements. The elements of the cassettes of the water-permeable screen are made of a material or materials, during the interaction of which with the external environment the hydrolysis process takes place with the formation of toxic compounds on the cassettes - elements - the structure of the FPD. The result is the chemical composition change of the aqueous medium at the location of the fish protection device, that affects the olfactory receptors of fish and other aquatic organisms, contributing to their withdrawal from the water intake structure area, and reduces the biological fouling degree of the water intake structures and the fish protection device. The material of each individual cassette and each individual element within the same cassette may vary within the same device. The water-permeable screen may be made single-circuit or double-circuit, single-row, double-row or multi-row. The cassette can be made single-row, double-row or multi-row. The number of elements in one cassette is from 1 and more, the installation angle of each individual element to the stream can be any from 0 to 180° and vary within the same cassette. The distance between each two elements taken separately within the same cassette may be any and vary within the same device. The element is made in the form of a louver plate, or a rod, or a mesh web. The element may be made annular, rectilinear, curvilinear, zig-zag as well.

EFFECT: improving the protection of fish and other aquatic organisms that live in the water intake action water area, and preventing their death as a result of entering the water intake, reducing the biological fouling degree of the fish protection device, the elements of the water intake and other underwater structures.
