SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and methods for determination of at least one ablation profile for selective removal of material from the splint side portions to correct non-uniformity characteristics of a vulcanized splint, such as lateral force variation. Ablation procedure can be determined for a plurality of grooves along the splint side based on the sensitivity data corresponding to the plurality of grooves. At least one ablation profile can be sequentially determined in accordance with the flow chart set by the ablation procedure.
EFFECT: sequential determination of ablation profiles can reduce computational resources required to compute at least one ablation profile, and in some cases may reduce ablation time and total splint ablation, sequential determination of ablation profiles may provide lateral force variation correction to rotate the splint clockwise and counterclockwise.
