FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing vermicompost consists in preparing the substrate from cattle, horse or pig manure and introducing California red worms of the species Eisenia foetida into the compost-containing substrate. The manure is laid in a box having openings on the lateral sides and in the bottom, is covered with a corrugated film, is poured with the extract containing California red worms microflora and stirred once every 3 days. The trial batch of worms in the amount of 100 pieces is let in. 30 g of fine-grained sand is added onto the compost surface. The rest of the worms in the amount of 200 pieces is let in. The compost is watered 1 time in two days. The process of compost treatment with California red worms lasts 12-14 weeks.

EFFECT: method provides obtaining a non-polluting, high-quality vermicompost.
