SUBSTANCE: device comprises an antenna (13) of the induction type; a means (147) for determining the distance between antenna (13) of said device (7) and the interface; power supply circuit (142, 143) configured to supply power to antenna (13) for the antenna to create an electromagnetic field with different successive amplitude values; device (1) for detecting the response from the tag; processing circuit (144) configured to define several pairs, each of which includes a distance, which is defined between antenna (13) and the interface; and a minimum value of the electromagnetic field generated at the antenna level at which the label is detected at the specified distance; and to estimate the distance between the label and the interface depending on the said defined pairs.
EFFECT: improved accuracy.
