FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method of identification of faulty insulator consists in upgrading of passive RFID-label by exception from the standard circuit of RFID-label of current-conducting line of the antenna located parallel to the chip, the database for the inspected section is created, picketage, number of the support with insulators, each insulator is identified by attaching to it of the upgraded passive RFID-label, an individual code to the chip is assigned, and on the mobile vehicle the input reader is installed which contains the transceiving device and antenna, the input reader is connected to the digital computer with the respective software, the vehicle is moved along the inspected section, a broadband exploring signal towards the insulators with RFID-scores is continuously transmitted from the input reader through the transmitting device and antenna, the feedback signal from RFID-labels is received by the antenna and the receiving device of the input reader , the amount of non-responded RFID-scores is determined, the results are processed using the software, the location of damaged insulators is determined, the obtained data are displayed on the digital computer monitor and transmitted to the control room.

EFFECT: monitoring of insulators, shortening time of failure detection, personnel safety.
