SUBSTANCE: printing system is proposed for printing of repeating aesthetic and/or informative pattern on printing material that includs a plurality of parallel webs. Printing system includes at least two overlapping non-contact printing device units, each of which has a transverse extension that defines the maximum printing width, and a controller connected to each of the said printing device units and adapted to establish the actual printing width extending between the initial position and the end position of the said transverse extent, wherein the said controller is configured to determine the said actual printing width by obtaining lateral position of non-printing area defined by interaction between two adjacent webs of printing material, and located laterally approximately in the area of overlap between two printing device units, so that the end position of the first printing device unit and the initial position of the overlapping printing device unit are located within the said non-printing area.
EFFECT: printing cost and labour intensity reduction.
