SUBSTANCE: downhole tool comprises a first and a second seal surface and a seal made of a shape memory material, capable of providing a dynamic seal between the first and second seal surfaces with a contact-type of "metal to metal" between the seal and each of the sealing surfaces. The seal, made of a shape memory material, capable of tightly pressed against the first and second seal surfaces during the relative displacement between the first and second seal surfaces and adapted for expansion into sealing contact with each of the first and second sealing surfaces in response to thermal effects on seal made of a shape memory material. Seal is made of a shape memory material and comprises a shape memory polymer. A shape memory polymer is capable of stretching of the external metal seal component into sealing contact of "metal to metal". Sealing is completely or partially filled with a liquid and/or gas. The downhole tool comprises an additional elastomer seal. Seal, made of a shape memory material, in its expanded state downhole is adapted to overlap the extrusion gap between the first and second seal faces, reducing the extrusion of the elastomeric seal.
