FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: according to the results of the tonal audiometry of the specialists applying collective protection before and after the working shift and the sound pressure measurements inside the collective protection device during the working shift, the objective characteristics are determined: the effectiveness of protection against noise of the octave frequency of 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz 4000 Hz, 8000 Hz; exceeding the maximum sound pressure level registered during the working shift within the collective protection device at the octave frequency of the maximum permissible level established by the regulatory documents 31.5 Hz, 63 Hz, 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, 4000 Hz, 8000 Hz. On the basis of the received data, the acoustic efficiency coefficient of the collective noise protection device is calculated by the mathematical formula. Depending on the value obtained, the acoustic efficiency of the collective noise protection device is assessed as low, satisfactory, good or excellent.

EFFECT: method allows to provide the possibility of acoustic qualimetry of the collective noise protection device by defining objective estimates of informative characteristics.
