FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: codeine ion associate, which is formed with eosin quantitatively extracted with toluene from the aqueous solution. Ion associate luminescence spectrum is a broad band with a maximum at 550 nm. Maximum luminescence intensity is achieved when the ion associate extraction from an aqueous solution having a pH of 7.5-.9.0 and eosin concentrations 0.02-0.05 mg/ml. The method allows more than 7500 times lower limit of detection of codeine.
EFFECT: lowering the detection limit of codeine in complex mixtures.
