FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of heat treatment of article made from nickel-based alloy of ATI 718 type comprises heating of the article to a temperature in the range from 1700°F (926.7°C) to 1725°F (940.6°C), holding at that temperature from 30 minutes to 300 minutes and air cooling at a speed of not more than 1°F/min (0.56°C/min) to ambient temperature.
EFFECT: treated alloys have a stable structure and uniform mechanical properties during time of operation at a temperature above the precipitation hardening temperature.
