SUBSTANCE: application describes a syringe with a passive disabling system to prevent its reuse. The syringe comprises a cylinder, a piston rod and a closure; the piston rod comprises a flexible projection which locks the piston rod in the cylinder. The syringe also accommodates a breakable part of the piston rod which breaks down if attempted to reuse. Furthermore, there is a spacer element between the flexible lip and the annular shoulder. The spacer includes the first lobe and the second lobe extending in the distal direction which intersect to form a crossing portion, and which have a rounded edge with height decreasing from the outer edge of the annular flange portion to the intersection.

EFFECT: syringe reuse prevention.
