SUBSTANCE: network nodes (700-720) route messages between pairs of source nodes and destination nodes through the network nodes (700-720) of a wireless communication system. One slot of a wireless link resources is selected (1200) between each of the network nodes (700-720) of a sequence in the link path between one pair of source nodes and destination nodes. Another slot of wireless link resources is selected (1202), at least, between some network nodes (700-720) of the sequence in the link path between one pair of source nodes and destination nodes. Selection of a different resource slot between each of the network nodes of the sequence in the link path may be restricted b selection of resource slots which are only available in the sequence of network nodes in the link path between a pair of source nodes and destination nodes.
EFFECT: reduced routing complexity and increased efficiency of use for bandwidth traffic of an available communication link.
