SUBSTANCE: method of protecting cross-country vehicles from theft and changing identification numbers therefrom is that a basic identification number is applied to the body or frame of the vehicle at an angle depending on the manufacture date of the vehicle to a given line in the plane of the surface to which it is applied, and a duplicating identification number is also applied. The location of the duplicating identification number on the body or frame also depends on the date of manufacture of the vehicle.
EFFECT: increased level of protection of vehicles from theft.
