SUBSTANCE: method for protection of motor vehicles having at least four wheels and quadracycles against theft and alternation of identification numbers thereon is that a main identification number is placed on a body or frame of a vehicle at a certain angle depending on the date of manufacture of said vehicle, on a predetermined line in surface plane, on which it is applied. A duplicating identification number is also applied, which location on the body or frame depends on the date of manufacture of said vehicle.
EFFECT: increased protection of vehicle against theft.
